Michael is the President of The M3L Group, a full-service public affairs consulting firm with offices in both North and South Carolina as well as Washington, DC.
With over 15 years of experience, Michael has managed government and public affairs for a diverse range of clients, including Fortune 500 multinational corporations, trade organizations, local governments, public universities, nonprofit organizations, start-up tech firms, and renewable energy companies.
Prior to launching The M3L group, Michael served as a political appointee in the Obama administration, serving as a senior member of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Leading the Affordable Care Act outreach and engagement efforts. Senior Advisor at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development spearheading initiatives such as "Strong Cities, Strong Communities" and "Sustainable Communities. Michael also led congressional relations for the U.S. Small Business Administration, focusing on enhancing access to contracts, capital, and credit for communities of color.
Michael holds a BS degree in Economics from the University of South Carolina and an MPA from North Carolina Central University. He has also received certificates of study from both Georgetown and Stanford Universities.
Michael has been featured in "Who's Who in Charlotte", various 40 under 40 publications and sits on several nonprofit boards.
